It’s official - the Realme X is coming soon to India. Realme has started its teaser campaign for the Realme X India launch on social media and even though the Oppo spin-off brand isn’t giving out the date yet, we can expect it to be sometime in July – which is also when rival Xiaomi will launch its Redmi K20 series in India.

Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the company will be also bringing the "Garlic" and "Onion" Master Editions of the Realme X to India – in addition to the standard blue and white. Realme has also launched a limited Spider-Man Far From Home edition of the Realme X in China. It would be interesting to see if Realme brings that to India as well.

The garlic and onion editions of the Realme X – that are already available in China – feature the artwork of Muji's iconic designer, Naoto Fukasawa. Not only do the phones have a colour palette that closely resembles a garlic/onion, the Master Editions of the Realme X also have Naoto Fukasawa's signature printed on the back. Realme says the distinct colour scheme of these phones was achieved after 72 gradient tests – the company says it over 300 prototypes were used to get to the final looks.

Hardware specifications remain standard across the board though. Just like the blue and white Realme X, its Master Editions also come with a 6.53-inch 1080p+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. They are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. There’s Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 software and a 3,765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 flash charge support. There are dual rear cameras consisting of a 48MP (Sony IMX 586) sensor and another 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the phones come with a 16MP camera with a Sony IMX471 sensor – which is part of a pop-up mechanism.
